6 Things I am Grateful for Today

Thanksgiving is tomorrow, so I am taking time to reflect on the things I feel gratitude for today. You, Our Clients: I find myself saying what I often heard from my dad over the years: our clients become like members of our family. I am so grateful for each of you. You push me to do more, be better, and show up in new ways to help you reach your financial and life goals. This year we have had the opportunity to walk closely with many clients through challenging life moments, providing support and encouragement. We are grateful for the opportunity to have an impact on your life. We are always looking for ways to serve and add more value. My Team: Wow, I am surrounded by an amazing group of kind, caring and talented people. There is no way I could execute the vision for creating a firm built on the values of helping clients live intentionally and pursue their version of abundance without the support of my team. 2019 has been a pivot year for us with a new office, new name and new focus as we are well positioned to serve in the years ahead. I am grateful for the love and support I get from my team as they keep me going forward, focused and strong. The Organizations We Support:  The world has so many challenges. Mom has told me since I was about seven, that no matter how hard I try, I can’t solve them alone. So whether it’s helping feed those who are less fortunate, faith based ministries, leadership support programs for youth, women in business, support for our veterans or international missions, I am grateful for all the amazing people and organizations who are adding so much goodness to the world. The City of High Point: Yes, somewhere around half our clients live outside of High Point (and across the country!). It is hard to not feel like our “small” city has really turned around in the last few years. It has become more pro-business and is flourishing with new places to eat, drink, shop and enjoy our time. We look forward to continuing to see development in the years ahead. While there might not be as much excitement as the “big” cities, there is also not as much traffic. With the local logistics, it is also an easy jumping off place to most anywhere in the world. After saying for a while that I didn’t want to live where I grew up, I am settled and grateful for living in a wonderful community, full of inspiring people. Health: We are blessed. Many of our clients go through transitions each year as their health changes. Oftentimes I feel disappointed when the medical profession doesn’t have answers or solutions to help the people I care about improve their health. When this happens, I reflect on the phrase, “dental work without anesthesia”. Yep, that was the way it was just a hundred years ago or so. Looking forward, I think we are going to be amazed with technological and medical breakthroughs around the corner.  A New Decade: It is just around the corner. And while I am committed to staying present in the moment, I am also really excited to know that great things are in the future. From all of us at High Point Financial Design, we want to wish you a very happy Thanksgiving! We hope you take time to enjoy your family, friends, and that special family recipe you look forward to every year. I'll be doing the same! And if you are so inspired, hit reply and let me know what you're grateful for this year.

Continued blessings,
